Description: In difficult economic times it is important to effectively position
libraries for success with decision-makers and constituents. Advocacy is about raising
awareness and gaining commitment that leads to action regarding policy, funding, support, or
partnerships. This interactive class will help librarians identify and understand the
interests and perceptions of key stakeholders and craft a message that will engage these
stakeholders in helping the library thrive. The session will help librarians begin to craft an
action plan that meets their library’s needs.
