Annual Meeting Set For Lake Placid

The Northern New York Library Network’s 42nd Annual Meeting will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Lake Placid.

The event will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2007, and the agenda for the day will be as follows:

• 9:30 a.m. - Coffee and Registration
• 10:00 a.m. Discussion Groups
  * Google Update: What’s new in Google services? How can you use Google services in your library?
  Facilitator: Paul Doty, St. Lawrence University
  * Library Volunteers: How to recruit volunteers and manage a successful volunteer program
  Facilitator: Joseph Swinyer, Consultant, Documentary Heritage Program
  * Regional digitization projects and the North Country Digital History Program
  Facilitators: Tom Blauvelt, Northern New York Library Network and Debra Kimok, SUNY Plattsburgh
• 11:15 a.m. Break
• 11:30 a.m. 42nd Annual Meeting, announcements, door prizes
• 12:00 p.m. Lunch
• 12:45 p.m. Guest Speaker: David Cossey, Chief Information Officer, Union College
  "So Many Books, a Lot of RAM, Still Too Little Time: Reading, Libraries, Technology and the Future"

The day will also include the announcement of the recipient of the 17th Annual Award for Excellence in Library Service.

The deadline for registration for the Annual Meeting is Monday, May 21, 2007. So if you haven’t signed up yet, be sure to do so today! There is no fee to attend this year’s event, and lunch will be included.
