NY 3Rs and WALDO Partnership

The NY 3Rs Association and WALDO are pleased to announce their partnership will continue in 2007 and beyond. The object of the partnership is to offer member libraries with the widest possible discounts to electronic and web-based information service. During the last decade of this partnership, the volume of state-wide purchases has substantially increased and a wide range of products have become available.

Over the last few months, the two groups have renegotiated the structure and processes of the partnership to ensure fair and equitable services for all participants and to improve the administration of the billing and payment processes. Effective July 1, 2007 all participants will be charged a uniform service fee of one percent in addition to the five percent charged by WALDO. This fee will be returned to the NY 3Rs systems and used to pay costs associated with billing and program support at the regional level. Also effective July 1, libraries that are in arrears more than 115 days will have data base subscriptions suspended until payment is made.

Questions concerning sales or customer support should continue to be referred to WALDO. Billing issues should be referred to the NNYLN. For an update of all WALDO products and services, libraries should plan to attend the Annual WALDO Update meeting, scheduled for April 27, 2007 at the Network office.
