2007 Archival Directory Is Published

The Northern New York Library Network has recently published the 2007-2009 edition of the Directory of Archival and Historical Document Collections.

The purpose of the directory is to provide accurate, up-to-date information for researchers, students, teachers and all others who have a need to use archival materials and historical documents in the North Country. The directory covers repositories and museums throughout Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego and St. Lawrence counties.

The directory includes information on each institution’s collection, restrictions, and contact specifics. It also has county, town and village clerk information; as well as location, repository and subject indexes.

The directory is also available in its entirety on the Internet, and can be found at www.nnyln.org/archives/Archives_Contents.html

Directories have been distributed to all libraries and archives in the region. Organizations that have not received a copy may request one by contacting the Network office at 315- 265-1119, or toll-free at 877-833-1674 and ask for Pam Ouimet, or e-mail her. Directories will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last.
