Library Legislative Day

Library Legislative Day 2007 has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 13.

All members of the library community are encouraged to be involved in this special day by going to Albany. You can help to educate decision makers about the importance of libraries in improving North Country research, teaching, learning and in contributing to the general quality of life.

If you are unable to attend Library Legislative Day, please write your elected assembly member or state senator and let them know how valuable libraries are to your community.

Calendar Notes ...

Friday, February 2 - "Beyond Beginners: Microsoft Access" will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the Clinton-Essex-Franklin Library System in Plattsburgh. The cost is $15.00 for library staff, and $59.95 for all others. Lunch is included.

Monday, February 19 - The NNYLN will be closed in observance of Presidents’ Day.

People In The News

Cathe Whitton, Library Clerk at Massena Public Library, will be retiring at the end of February. She has been with the library since 1983. One of the many things Ms. Whitton will be remembered for is her supervision of the library’s outreach service, which brings books and other materials to housebound residents of nursing homes.
