E-mail Updates

NorthNet Accounts

Library staff who have been receiving free NorthNet accounts will be contacted this summer by Westelcom, the company that purchased NorthNet in 2001, to see if they would like to continue the service at a discounted rate.

Under the terms of the sale, Westelcom was to continue free service for five years, which it has done. The new rate will be $7.95 per month for dial-up NorthNet service, including Spam Guard and Virus Protection, five e-mail accounts, and 10 MB of personal web space. NorthNet users who wish to only retain their e-mail account (no dial-up access) may do so for $3 per month. Fees for those who elect to continue their NorthNet accounts will begin September, 2006.

All library staff who elect to discontinue their service with NorthNet are asked to provide the Network with their new email.

Continuing Education

All library and repository staff are encouraged to contact the NNY Library Network with their email addresses if they are not currently receiving Continuing Education announcements via email.

Email addresses should be sent to Pam Ouimet. Please indicate if you are a library or historical repository employee.
