Workshop On Applying For Grants Shouldn’t Be MissedLibraries planning on applying for a federal or state grant need to attend this workshop on "Outcome Based Evaluation" (OBE). This event will provide a rare opportunity for librarians and their staff to learn very valuable information in a North County location. The New York State Library has scheduled three Outcome-Based Evaluation (OBE) training workshops throughout the State during the spring of 2006. One is being held in the North Country at the NNYLN. The local workshop is being held Thursday and Friday, May 18 and 19, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Northern New York Library Network in Potsdam. There is no fee to attend, and lunch will be provided. The OBE workshops will be presented by Dr. Eleanor Carter of Carter Consulting Services. They are designed for staff from all types of libraries and library systems and central libraries. Each participant will be asked to submit a description of a project in advance. Participants will be grouped into teams for the two-day training, and from the projects submitted, the trainer will select one for each team to work on during the training. For more information and to register for the workshop, please contact Mary Linda Todd, Library Development Specialist at the New York State Library, at mtodd@mail.nysed.gov
