Staffing Changes Take Place At SLU’s OD Young LibraryAs St. Lawrence University’s O.D. Young Library begins the spring semester, some recent staff changes have been made. As of February 1, 2006, Rhonda Courtney has assumed the position of Access Services Librarian for the SLU Libraries. Rhonda brings to her new position a diverse set of experiences in academic libraries, as well as a strong technology and business background. As a consequence of Rhonda’s assumption of the position of Access Services Librarian, the Library is now able to make a planned transition in the area of technical services. Michelle Gillie (formerly Access Services Librarian) will assume responsibility for monographic acquisitions and cataloging. Meanwhile, Robin Hutchinson will continue in his new position that is responsible for serials acquisitions and cataloging, including the direct responsibility for both print and electronic journals. Michael Alzo has been working in the Library as Associate University Librarian, as well as continuing to perform his regular duties as Systems Librarian. Mike will assist University Librarian Bart Harloe with issues related to managing and maintaining the library facilities, as well as focusing time and energy on staff development and training. Send staffing information for inclusion in Points North to pouimet@nnyln.org.
