Commercials Highlight Area Libraries

Several hundred radio and television commercials will be broadcast over the Network’s seven-county region during National Library Week (April 10-16, 2005).

The national slogan this year is "Something for Everyone @ Your Library," and that message has been incorporated into all the ads.

The commercial shows the diverse information and resources available at public, hospital, school, academic and law libraries. The T.V. commercial has been produced so it would appear that any given library could easily be in anyone’s local community.

Due to the logistics of the Network’s vast seven-county region, all of the shots were taken in the region between Watertown and Canton. Special thanks goes to the staff and community members from Dexter Public Library, Jefferson Community College, Samaritan Medical Library, and St. Lawrence Supreme Court Law Library.

Financial contributions for this project were provided by the NNY Library Network, North Country Library System, and Clinton-Essex-Franklin Library System, using Federal Library Services and Technology Act funds, awarded to the New York State Library by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.

The television commercials will be aired on WWNY and WWTI based out of Watertown, and WPTZ based out of Plattsburgh. The radio commercials will be aired on The Valley and The Fox based in Massena, WIRY based in Plattsburgh, WPDM based in Potsdam, Y106 and Rock 105 based in the Adirondacks, Z93 and Froggy based in Watertown, and WTKW and WTLA based in Oswego. Overall, there are a total of 358 radio and 136 television commercials being aired during National Library Week.
