ALA Midwinter Meeting Is Scheduled

Are you thinking of going to the ALA Midwinter Meeting in Boston in January, but
don't like the idea of driving and parking (or alternately, flying and taxi-ing)? Here
is an alternative!!
The South Central Library Resources Council is proposing to charter a bus to transport
those interested. The bus would begin in Ithaca, and pick up passengers at a Thruway stop in
Syracuse and/or Albany and proceed on to Boston. Of course, this would be a round-trip!
The ALA Mid-Winter Meeting in Boston will be held January 14-19,2005. The actual dates of
the bus transportation would depend on what suits the majority of passengers. Round
trip cost of the trip would be $60-$70 per person. (Attendees could hardly drive for
that amount, and they certainly couldn't park!)
If interested in participating, or want more information, contact Jean Currie, Director of
the South Central Council, at 607-273-9106 or
jcurrie@lakenet.org.
Let Jean know what would be your preferred dates for traveling. (Rumor has it that there will
be wine and cheese on board.) For those who have never gone to a national ALA Midwinter
meeting, this is a great opportunity. The exhibits alone are worth the trip!
