New Century Libraries Conference Is Well Attended

More than 100 library supporters turned out for the New Century Libraries Advocacy Leadership Conference held Sept. 16, 2004 at the Cheel Arena, Clarkson University, Potsdam.

Advocates from around the North Country, as well as Albany, turned out for the half- day event, which was also attended by members of the local media.

Guest speakers included Commissioner of Education Richard Mills, State Librarian Janet Welch, Regent James Dawson, St. Lawrence Lewis BOCES Superintendent Linda Gush, New York Library Association Councilor at Large Sara Kelly Johns, Assemblyman Darrel Aubertine and Potsdam Mayor Ruth Garner.
