The NNYLN Board of Trustees met September 16 at the Network Office in Potsdam.

Actions included:

  • Welcoming two new Board members: Judy Chittenden of Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley in Potsdam, and Michael Zemany of Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone
  • Approval of the Network's Regional Digitization Plan
  • Approval of the State Library's request that the Network participate in the National Newspaper Digitization Program
  • Acceptance of the IMLS "Creating a New Generation of Librarians to Serve All New Yorkers" grant
  • Review of financial documents and state reports
  • Review of committee minutes
  • Approval of a resolution opposing the Governor's veto of library aid

The next scheduled Board meeting is December 2, 2004, at the Network Office.

People In The News

Janet Kreason, Children's Librarian at Flower Memorial Library, Watertown, was elected Vice-President/President Elect of the Youth Services Section of the New York Library Association. Her term of office begins at the NYLA conference in October.
