Open House Held At Lee Memorial HospitalThe Hunter-Rice Health Sciences Library at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown recently hosted an open house at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fulton. Samaritan Library Director Jeff Garvey said, "We were very pleased with the results - we had about 75 people come through - and many seemed as interested in the library as in the free food! The questions were: a) how much would it cost Lee to contract with a commercial provider for library services?; b) what percentage of health providers change their choice of a drug after receiving info from a library?; c) what percentage of documents on the Internet are freely available?; d) which is more expensive - a one year subscription to Clinical Orthopedics or a Dell pc with printer and digital camera?; e) and how many miles does our circuit librarian drive in a year? "The questions spurred a lot of interesting conversation," Mr. Garvey said. "It is our intention to have an open house in every hospital we go to during the next 12 months."
