Professional Development ProgramThe Professional Development Program assists the staff of member libraries to attend conferences, seminars, workshops and other educational activities which are not available locally, and for which funds might not otherwise be available. Applications may be submitted for a maximum stipend of $500. All staff of libraries who are members of the Northern New York Library Network are eligible to apply for assistance from this program. In the past, successful applicants have received aid in attending national conferences, small seminars, and regional chapter meetings. Eligible events include conferences, seminars, workshops, graduate coursework in library and information science, and undergraduate coursework in a work related field. Recipients are asked to share what they have learned through this program as a discussion leader or participant at a NNYLN continuing education event.
