Library Advocates from around the North Country braved an upcoming snow storm to
visit state representatives in Albany on March 16, 2004. They spoke about the
importance of library systems and services, the impact of statewide programs
such as the NOVEL data bases, and the profoundly negative aspects of the Governor’s
proposal to reduce state aid to libraries by almost $5 million. Pictured above are
Sen. Jim Wright and Assemblyman Darrel Aubertine with some of the North Country
delegation.
