Call For Volunteers

The terms of three members of the Regional Automation Committee will expire on June 30, 2004.

The Regional Automation Committee is responsible for developing recommendations for the annual plan for automation activities. Smaller subsets of this committee are likely to be formed for special purposes.

The Board of Trustees appoints members of this committee for a three-year term. If you would like to serve on this committee, or would like to nominate someone you feel would be an asset, please send the name(s) to the Northern New York Library Network.

Library PAC Established

Library leaders concerned about the future of state funding for libraries and library systems in New York have established a political action committee - New Yorkers for Better Libraries PAC. The mission of NYLIBS-PAC is to provide financial support to candidates for state office who are in a position to effectively champion libraries.

Personal and corporate contributions to NYLIBS-PAC are welcome, and can be mailed to New Yorkers for Better Libraries PAC, PO Box 795, Canton, NY 13617. For more information concerning NYLIBS-PAC, visit www.nylibs-pac.net.

"Beyond Our Boundaries"

Youth Services Section of New York Library Association will present its 29th Annual Spring Conference "Beyond Our Boundaries" on April 23, 2004 at the Lake Placid Resort.

The full-day conference will be from 8:15 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Tim Wynne-Jones will make the keynote address, and Steven Kellogg will be the luncheon speaker.
