May 3 - The DHP Jefferson-Lewis-Oswego Roundtable will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Antique Boat Museum, 715 Mary Street in Clayton. The topic will be "Increasing Local Financial Support: Programs, Events, Attendance, Membership and Financial Gifts," and will be lead by Jefferson County Historical Society Director Fred Rollins. There is no fee to attend.

May 5 - "The Wireless Librarian" will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the NNYLN office in Potsdam. The fee is $15 for library staff and $59.95 for all others. Lunch will be included.

May 9 - "ICICILL Interlibrary Loan" will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the NNYLN office in Potsdam. There is no fee to attend.

May 10 - DHP Clinton-Essex Roundtable will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Chazy Town Historian’s Office, 9631 Route 9, Chazy. The topic will be "How to Cultivate Potential Donors," and will be lead by Joe Swinyer and Mooers Town Historian Carol Nedeau.

May 16 - The Advocacy Committee will meet at 10:00 a.m. at the NNYLN office.

May 22 - The NNYLN will hold its 38th Annual Meeting in Alexandria Bay. (See covers story.)

May 24 - DHP Franklin-St. Lawrence Roundtable will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association, 3 Main Street, Canton. The topic will be "Working Effectively with Boards," and will be lead by retired Chazy Town Historian Marie Gennett and her husband, Leon, who was a volunteer.

May 26 - The NNYLN office will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.

May 30 - The Network will sponsor an update of consortial services with WALDO staff at the Network office in Potsdam. WALDO is a consortium representing academic, public, k-12, hospital and special libraries in NYS and contracts with database and on-line service providers of products for all types of libraries. Through membership in the NNYLN, libraries throughout the region are eligible to purchase services and databases through the Network’s association with WALDO at substantial savings. Included in the update will be recent additions to the WALDO portfolio of on-line databases and services, with opportunities to discuss services and ask questions of WALDO staff.

June 2 - The NNY Library Network will provide an opportunity to see Virtual Reference products at the Network office in Potsdam. Representatives from DocuTek, (VRL Plus) and OCLC (QuestionPoint) have confirmed they will attend and demonstrate their products. We also expect positive responses from LSSI and Reference 24/7.

June 3 & 5 - "Archives 201: Appraisal & Selection of Historical Records" will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Days Inn, Watertown on June 3, and at the Hotel Saranac, Saranac Lake on June 5. There is no fee to attend, and lunch will be included.
