Feb. 5 - "Microsoft Access, Level I" will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the NNYLN office in Potsdam. There is a $15 fee and lunch will be included.

Feb. 6 - The NNYLN Board of Trustees will meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Network office.

Feb. 7 - The two-part National Teleconference Series, "Reference Services: Virtual, Digital and In-Library - A New Model for Effective Delivery" will be held from noon - 2:00 p.m. at the NNYLN office. There is no fee. Please plan on having lunch at 11:30 a.m. and staying for a roundtable discussion after the teleconference.

March 18 - New York Library Legislative Day is being held in Albany. (See the story on page 1 for more information.)

Soaring To Excellence

Soaring to Excellence is a series of teleconferences which provide information and training to library support staff nationwide. The teleconferences are transmitted live from the College of DuPage and provide cutting-edge topics for staff.

A videotape copy of Soaring to Excellence, Part 2 is now available on loan from the Network office.

Time Management: Getting Things Done was presented by Debra Wilcox Johnson, Johnson & Johnson Consulting-Wisconsin.

This session explored practical techniques for managing your work, and offered a wide range of suggestions for more effective use of your time. Factors to be considered included how to negotiate deadlines and work assignments, being more realistic about the time available, and maintaining a balance between work and home.
