National Archives WeekNational Archives Week is being celebrated Oct. 6-13, 2002, and a number of institutions within the Northern New York Library Network’s region are holding activities in conjunction with the event. "SUNY Potsdam’s History and Archival Collections" exhibit is being sponsored by College Archives and Special Collections, Crumb Library. The event will be held from Oct. 6-13. Viewing hours will be Sunday, noon - 11:00 p.m.; Monday-Thursday, 7:45 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.; Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the F.W. Crumb Memorial Library, SUNY Potsdam. In celebration of Archives Week, this week-long exhibit will highlight the college’s history and feature items from and descriptions of the archival collections. It is being sponsored by the Hermon Village Historian. There will be a Hermon Hepburn Library contest for picturesque title for "125th Anniversary" for youth and adults. The event is an exhibit on Life in Crown Point, NY in October 1876. The exhibit will include an 1876 map showing residents’ homes, business letterheads from that era, and census records of Crown Point families at that time. "Help Us Celebrate Archives Week" is being sponsored by the Village of Rouses Point Historical Society and Rouses Point-Champlain Historical Society. It is being held Oct. 6-13 at 107 Lake Street, Rouses Point.
