Technology Tip: Shortcut Anchor

The Windows icon key located on the bottom of your PC's keyboard is generally ignored but it is the shortcut anchor for a few helpful commands. To use these hold down the

Windows icon key and, while holding it down, press the second key:
Windows: Display Start menu.
Windows + M: Minimize or restore all Windows.
Windows + shift + M: Undo minimize all windows.

Windows + E: Display Windows Explorer.
Windows + Tab: Cycle through buttons on taskbar.
Windows + F: Display find: all files.
Windows + F1: Display Help.
Windows + R: Display Run command.
Windows + break: Display system properties dialog box.

This last one is probably the only remaining use for the 'break' key which was used quite a lot in the long-ago days of DOS.
