Professional Development Program

The NNYLN Professional Development Program assists the staff of member libraries to further their professional skills. Financial aid from this program enables staff to attend conferences, seminars, workshops and other educational activities for which funds might not otherwise be available locally.

Most recently, Professional Development Program awards were given to:

  • Jane Subramanian of SUNY Potsdam to attend the Society of American Archivists 65th Annual Meeting, "2001: A Global Odyssey" in August, 2001.

  • Sarah Sachs of Potsdam Public Library to attend Residency Classes for MLS in January 2002.

  • Karen Shockey of SUNY Oswego to attend the LOEX conference "Integrating Information Literacy into the College Experience" on May 9-11, 2002.

  • Edward Komara of SUNY Potsdam to attend the Music Library Association Conference on Feb 18-21, 2002.

Staff members who successfully apply for Professional Development funds are asked to share the knowledge and experience they gained.

If you are interested in finding out how to obtain funds through the Program, please contact the NNYLN at 315-265-1119, or toll-free at 877-833-1674.
