Reviews Provided At No Cost The Northern New York Library Network would like to remind library and historical repository staff members that on-site consultations are available at absolutely no cost to your institution. Advisory and Technical Assistance reviews are provided through the Documentary Heritage Program, in which a trained consultant comes directly to your location to conduct the review. If you have a consultation, you are under no obligation to perform any of the recommendations - they are all optional suggestions. No collection is too large or small to be considered. Some of the area sites where reviews have been conducted recently include a consultation on October 26, 2001 at the Lake Placid / North Elba Historical Society Museum in Lake Placid, a review on September 6, 2001 at the Jay Town Historians Office, a review on June 15, 2001 at the Penfield Homestead Museum, and a review on June 11, 2001 at the West Monroe Historical Society. The fall 2001 programs were held during the months of September and October, and all were well attended. The line-up for the spring 2002 Roundtables has already been established so mark your calendar early! The Jefferson-Lewis-Oswego Roundtable will be held on April 27, 2002 at the South Jefferson Historical Society in Adams. The topic will be "Preservation of Paper Materials." The Clinton- Essex Roundtable will be held on May 4, 2002 at the Clinton County Historical Association in Plattsburgh. The topic will be "Gifts: Assets or Liabilities?" The St. Lawrence-Franklin Roundtable will be held in May 2002 at the Potsdam Public Museum. The topic will be "Preserving Archival Collections Made up of Different Types of Materials."
