DHP Announces Grant Funding For Coming Year

The Documentary Heritage Plan has announced that for the fiscal year 2002-03, $100,000 in grant funds will be made available.

The funds may be used for focused projects that support the DHP goals. Grant project priorities include:

  • Mental Health Activities in New York
  • Environmental Affairs
  • Latino/Latina-Hispanic Communities
  • Reindustrialization and Economic Revitalization in 20th Century New York
  • New Population Groups in 20th Century New York

The types of projects that will be funded include:

    1. Projects to identify, survey and plan for the systematic collection of records.
    2. Projects to arrange, describe and make available historical records.
    3. Historical records strategic planning projects.

Applications will be accepted from not-for-profit archives, libraries, historical societies, museums and similar institutions within New York State.

Grants will be available in amounts from $1,000 to $25,000.

Grants in this cycle are for 12-month projects from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003. Applications must be postmarked by March 1, 2002. Announcements of projects awarded funding will be made by June 15, 2002.
