Mark Your Calendar ... Oct. 4, 2001 - Scrapbooks/Albums - A Love-Hate Relationship will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Lake Placid Hilton Inn. The presenters will be Deborah Wender and Susan Wrynn from the Northeast Document Conservation Center. The discussion will include the advantage and pitfalls of collecting and caring for scrapbooks and albums in historical archival and other special collections. There is a $10 fee. Oct. 6, 2001 - DHP St. Lawrence/Franklin counties fall Regional Roundtable will be held from 10 :00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Town of Westville Town Hall. The topic will be "High and Low Tech Ways To Make Collections Accessible." There is no fee. Oct. 8 - The Northern New York Library Network will be closed observance of Columbus Day. Oct. 11 - The NNY Library Network Board of Directors will meet at the Network office. Oct. 11, 2001 - ILLiad Training will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Network office in Potsdam. The presenter will be Jonathan Penn from NYLINK. This is a hands-on training for the staff of libraries using the ILLiad Interlibrary Loan Manager software. There is no fee. Oct. 22, 2001 - Beginner’s Internet will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the North Country Library System in Watertown.
