Musante Receives Annual Library Award
EXCELLENCE AWARD - Patricia Musante, Director of the Potsdam Public Library, was the winner of the 11th Annual Award for Excellence in Library Service. She is shown with Council Executive Director John Hammond. Library staff members presented Mrs. Musante with a bouquet of roses. People who work with the recipient of the Council’s 11th Annual Award for Excellence in Library Service said they feel this woman is committed to the quality of library service, and she is a force of energy. The award was presented to Patricia Musante, Director of the Potsdam Public Library. Mrs. Musante received her award during the 36th Annual North Country Reference and Research Resources Council meeting recently held in Alexandria Bay. Mrs. Musante was selected through confidential letters of nomination. Comments in those letters contained the following remarks about Mrs. Musante: "The Potsdam community is harvesting the benefits of a force of energy that will long be remembered as a major contributor to the defining movement of the Potsdam Public Library’s commitment to quality library services," one letter stated. "Under the direction of this force of energy, the library has received thousands of dollars in grant monies for library programs and equipment, seen circulation soar, and has unfailingly strived to create a community library for everyone to enjoy. "Unwavering devotion to quality library service, solid leadership skills and endless energy and vision are qualities that demonstrate Pat’s outstanding service to libraries," the letter continued. Another letter of nomination commented on Mrs. Musante’s "...commitment to quality library service, her direction and management of the Potsdam Public library, her commitment to community involvement, and her vision for the future." "Pat is always exploring opportunities to provide better and new services to our patrons and the circulation figures for the Potsdam Public Library have soared to new heights!" a letter reported. "Ms. Musante never seems to run out of energy and innovative ideas." |
