Continuing Education Add-Ons
The Council continues to add to the list of Continuing Education events we have scheduled for you for this year.
In addition to the workshops listed in the booklet published in March of this year, the following
workshops will be offered:
- Grant Writing: Basic Elements of a Grant Proposal, July 23, Saranac Lake; July 24, Watertown.
This half-day workshop will outline the basics needed to prepare a successful grant proposal, and
will discuss some the of research methods for finding sources of grant funds.
- Internet Access to New York’s Historical Records, August 3, North Country Reference & Research
Resources Council Office, Canton. This will be a hands-on workshop where students will have a chance
to explore web sites relating to New York’s historical records under the direction of instructors
who have investigated and can recommend these sources.
- Care and Preservation of Scrapbooks, October 4, Lake Placid. This one-day workshop will focus
on: structures, types of materials, methods of attachment and their implications for preservation
and conservation, and in-house, low-cost preservation approaches.
Another Continuing Education booklet covering the summer and fall offerings will be published in
June.
