JOIN IN ON A FALL WORKSHOP


Several workshops are being held in September through the North Country Reference and Research Resources Council, and now is the time to mark your calendars and register!

"Basic Elements of Historical Records Collections" will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on September 11 at the Hotel Saranac in Saranac Lake, and again on September 12 at the Days Inn in Watertown.

This workshop will provide information to the newcomer in historical records collections, as well as serving as a refresher course for those who have been in the field.

"Interlibrary Loan - North Country Policies, Procedures and Systems" will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on September 18 at the Lake Placid Hilton Hotel in Lake Placid.

This is the Council's Annual Interlibrary Loan Workshop, and will focus on local interlibrary loan.

"Security in Archives" will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on September 25 at the Potsdam Museum.

Discussions will revolve around the problems and challenges involved in providing security to special collections of materials while continuing to make them accessible.

Roundtables

The Clinton and Essex counties Documentary Heritage Program Fall Roundtable will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on September 16 at the Schroon-North Hudson Historical Society in Schroon Lake.

The topic is "Reaching Our Audience." A talk will feature Press Republican feature writer Lohr McKinstry.

The St. Lawrence and Franklin counties Documentary Heritage Program Fall Roundtable will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. October 13 at the Wilder Association in Malone.

The topic is "How to Survey Collections and Make a Workplan."

The Jefferson-Lewis-Oswego counties Documentary Heritage Fall Roundtable is tentatively set for the first week in October. A time and place will be announced in the near future.
