Thursday, Nov. 6 - "Care & Repair of Books" will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the C-E-F Library System in Plattsburgh. The cost is $15 for library staff; $59.95 for all others; or free to "Blue Line" library staff.

Friday, Nov. 7 - "Digitization & Copyright" will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the NNYLN in Potsdam. The cost is $15 for library staff; $59.95 for all others; or free to "Blue Line" library staff.

Thursday, Nov. 13 - "Advocacy: It’s Important!" will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the NNYLN in Potsdam. The cost is $10 for library staff; $29.95 for all others; or free to "Blue Line" library staff.

Thursday & Friday, Nov. 27 & 28 - The NNY Library Network will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving.

Thursday, Dec. 4 - There will be a meeting of the NNYLN Board of Trustees at the Network office in Potsdam.

People In The News

  • Sue Brashaw retired from the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center on September 24, 2008. The new Director of Education & Training is Mary Sandy Lyons.

  • Renata Flemming is a new Library Page at the Plattsburgh Public Library.

  • Two people are new to the St. Lawrence-Lewis School Library System staff in Norwood. Sheila Gagnon has come on board as a Library Clerk, and Louise LaPlante is the Senior Account Clerk.

  • Kimberly Glinka is a new Library Aide at the Potsdam Public Library.

  • Carleen Huxley is a new Assistant Librarian at Jefferson Community College’s Melvil Dewey Library in Watertown.

  • Stephanie Lamon and Jamie Lee are new Advanced Technology Training & Information Networking (ATTAIN) Lab Managers at Flower Memorial Library in Watertown.

  • Kathleen Williams has joined the staff at Clinton-Essex-Franklin Library System in Plattsburgh as the Administrative Assistant.

  • The winner is... Michael Chartrand, Samaritan Medical Center Library, Watertown is the winner of a flash drive. Michael's name was chosen from those people who completed the Northern New York Library Network’s continuing education online survey conducted in October.
