Drew Urbanek has been appointed Circulation / Public Service Librarian at SUNY Canton’s Southworth Library for a one-year term. He is covering the leave of Doug Welch.
Word Of Passing
The NNY Library Network has received word of the passing of Celia Livingston on August 19, 2008.
Ms. Livingston was the Automation Coordinator at Jefferson Community College’s Melvil Dewey Library in Watertown. She had been a member of the staff since 1989.
Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Jefferson County, 425 Washington St., PO Box 677, Watertown, NY 13601.
SL County Soil Survey
A Soil Survey of St. Lawrence County is available to all libraries within the county. The work was completed by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
This soil reference material consists of an expandable envelope with a set of aerial photos that cover the entire county. The information covers everything from engineering properties, to suitability for construction, to agricultural / forestry productivity.
There will only be one printing of this document. Libraries in St. Lawrence County that are interested in receiving a copy are to contact SLC Soil & Water Conservation District Manager Dawn Howard at 315-386-3582, or email her.
