People Are Logging Onto ICEPAC


We are pleased to note that ICEPAC, Northern New York's on-line catalog, has been very successful since it was made available in March.

The site was created by the North Country Reference and Research Resources Council, and was made possible through a Library Service and Technology Act grant.

Over a recent 15-day period, an average of 1,700 hits per day accessed the site, which includes a web catalog of over 300 libraries' holdings, as well as an interface to research data bases Wilson Omnifile, AP/Accunet, Northern New York Healthweb and Infotrac.

The following statistics were recently recorded:

* New unique hosts last 7 days (the number of different IP addresses who visited the site): 638

* Number of HTML requests (number of actual pages which were viewed by the users): 2,844

* Number of non-HTML requests (number of non-written material that was viewed by users): 10,652

* Average requests/hour: 70.9

* Average requests/day: 1701.3

To utilize the ICEPAC site, go to www.icepac.net Also, please remember to send us photos of your library's patrons or staff members so we may include them on the site. (No Polaroid's please.) Submissions should be sent to Pam Ouimet at the Council office, or digital photos may be emailed to her at pouimet@northnet.org Please be sure and include the name of your library and anyone in the photo.
