How to take a Course
Authorware Web Player (Shockwave): DPEC courses use the Shockwave plug-in for Do-It simulations. Before Sign-on, your browser is checked for Shockwave. If you have not already installed the Shockwave plug-in version that DPEC uses, you will be prompted to install Shockwave. You only need to install Shockwave once. If you choose not to install Shockwave, the Do-Its will not run but you will not miss any course content.
Course Completion: To get full credit for completing a course, you must answer every "Think About It" question. You get credit for completing a Unit when you answer every question in that Unit. The course is completed when you have answered every question in every Unit.
Improving your Score: If you answered some of the questions wrong and would like to improve your score; Once you have completed a Unit, go back and re-answer every question in that Unit. Your improved score for that Unit will then be recorded.
Skill Assessment: Each course includes a Skill Assessment, a group of approximately 30 questions. The Skill Assessment, accessed through the Navigate button in the course, may be taken at any time. Both your first and best scores are recorded. While you may EXIT the Skill Assessment at any time, you must complete it at one sitting to receive a score.
Scores: Both Skill Assessment scores and Course scores are available through the Skill Assessment screen.
Bookmarks: To mark your location when you exit a course, click the EXIT button in the toolbar in the upper right corner of the course. The next time you sign on with your UserID and Password and select that course, you will be taken to the marked location in the course.
