New York Archives Conference Coming To SUNY Potsdam The New York Archives Conference will be held May 28-30, 2008 at SUNY Potsdam. The conference is underwritten with support from Northern New York Library Network, Gaylord Bros., Hollinger Corporation, Hudson Microimaging, and Eloquent Systems, Inc. Workshops being held over the three-day event will include: Creating A Community History, Everything You Want to Know About Digitization, Historic Records Holders’ Interactions With Related Professions, Historical Documents Inventory, Strong Musical Traditions in Everyday Life as Evidenced in :North Country" Local Collections, Digital Asset Management Systems and Archives, and several more. Participants will also be able to choose to take part in one of three tours. They may go to the St. Lawrence County Historical Association in Canton, take a Walking Tour of Historic Potsdam Buildings, or go to a Printing Press Studio in Canton. The registration deadline to sign up for the conference is May 13, 2008.
