Spring Regional Roundtables
Dates for the Spring 2000 Documentary Heritage Roundtables have been set throughout the
North Country Reference and Research Resources Council area.
These roundtables provide a perfect opportunity to get together with other people from
your area to discuss issues of concern and interest regarding your repository or archives.
Or, if you’re simply interested in finding out more about historical and archival
information, you won’t want to miss this.
The Oswego County Roundtable will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 29
at Special Collections, Penfield Library, SUNY Oswego. Ed Vermue will be the host for the
day’s event.
The topic of the spring Roundtable is "The Position of Public Historians in New York
State." There is no fee to attend, but advance registration must be made through the Council
office by April 26.
The St. Lawrence and Franklin counties Roundtable will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on
May 5 at Special Collections, Crumb Memorial Library, SUNY Potsdam. Jane Subramanian will be
the host for the day’s event.
The Roundtable is entitled "Technology and Archives." There is no fee to attend, but
advance registration must be made through the Council office by May 2.
The Essex and Clinton counties Roundtable will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 13 at
the Northern New York American-Canadian Genealogical Society Library, Main Street,
Keeseville. Margaret Gennett will be the host and Joe Swinyer will be the presenter for the
day.
The Roundtable topic is entitled "Disaster Planning." This will be in workshop format with
participants actually working with disaster planning forms. There is no fee to attend, but
advance registration must be made through the Council office by May 10.
