Fall Regional RoundtablesDates for the fall Documentary Heritage Roundtables have been set throughout the North Country Reference and Research Resources region. These roundtables provide a perfect opportunity to get together with other people from your area to discuss issues of concern and interest regarding your repository or archives. Or, if you’re simply interested in finding out more about historical and archival information, you won’t want to miss this. The St. Lawrence and Franklin counties Roundtable will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on October 22, 1999 at the House of History Franklin County Historical & Museum Society in Malone. The title of the fall Roundtable is "Advocating For Your Archives! If You Don’t, Who Will?" The day will include Documentary Heritage Program handouts and updates, DHP advisory reports, and sharing of information on recent workshops and projects. There is no fee to attend, but advance registration must be made through the Council office by October 20. The Essex and Clinton counties Roundtable will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on October 23, 1999 at the Beekmantown Hall in Beekmantown. The Roundtable is entitled "Searching For Answers." The day will include reports from NC 3Rs grant recipients, the announcement of grant opportunities and upcoming workshops, and a tour of the Beekmantown Historian’s archives. There is no fee to attend, but advance registration must be made through the Council office by October 20. The Oswego County Roundtable will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 13 at the Oswego County Records Center in Oswego. The Roundtable is entitled "Keeping Records." The day will include the sharing of information about recent workshops or projects, and a discussion with guest speaker Oswego County Historian Barbara Dix.
