Fall Roundtables Are SetAs youngsters head back to school and the leaves begin to change colors, it means it’s time to mark your calendar for one of the Northern New York Library Network’s (formerly known as the North Country Reference and Research Resources Council) fall 2001 Documentary Heritage Program roundtables. The roundtables provide the perfect opportunity to get together with people from your area to discuss issues of concern and interest regarding your repository or archives. Or if you’re simply interested in finding our more about historical and archival information, you won’t want to miss this. You are also reminded that if you live in one roundtable region but are interested in the topic in another region, you are welcome to attend that roundtable as well. There are no limits as to which roundtables you may attend. The Clinton/Essex Roundtable will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Ticonderoga Historical Association, Hancock House, 1 Moses Circle in Ticonderoga. The topic of discussion will be "Records Organization with Past Perfect Database Software." Following the discussion, there will be a guided tour of the Hancock House by Ticonderoga Historical Society Assistant Director Stephen Blanchard. At 12:30 p.m. there will be an adjournment to lunch at The Hot Biscuit. Participants are encouraged to speak with Mr. Blanchard or John Tomkins after the tour or during lunch with questions regarding Past Perfect. The Oswego/Lewis/Jefferson Roundtable will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sept. 29 at the Pulaski Historical Society, 3428 Maple Ave., in Pulaski. The topic of discussion will be "Generating Revenues from Archival Holdings." The discussion will be lead by Jefferson County Historical Society Executive Director Fred Rollins. Following the discussion, there will be a guided "behind the scenes" tour of the Pulaski Historical Society. Participants are on their own for lunch. The St. Lawernce/Franklin Roundtable will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Oct. 6 at the Town of Westville Town Hall, County Route 19 in Westville. The topic of discussion will be "High and Low Tech Ways to Make Collections Accessible." The discussion will be lead by Westville Town Historian Jean Goddard. Participants are asked to come ready to shared how they make their collections accessible now or plan to make them accessible in the future. Following the discussion a brief history of the Westville Historical Organization will be given. Participants are on their own for lunch at the Elm Circle Restaurant.
