Fall 2000

Join In On A Fall Roundtable In Your Region

As youngsters head back to school and the leaves begin to change colors, it means it’s also time to mark your calendar for the Fall 2000 Documentary Heritage Roundtables. The dates for this season’s events have been set throughout the North Country Reference and Research Resources Council region.

These roundtables always provide a perfect opportunity to get together with people from your area to discuss issues of concern and interest regarding your repository or archives. Or, if you’re simply interested in finding out more about historical and archival information, you won’t want to miss this event.

The Clinton and Essex Counties Roundtable will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on September 16. The day will begin with a breakfast social from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the Senior Center in Schroon Lake.

The guest speaker for the day is Lohr McKinistry, who is a feature writer for the Press Republican, and will speak on "Reaching Our Audience." The day also includes a DHP update by Joe Swinyer, a tour of the Schroon-North Hudson Historical Society by Betty Osolin, and lunch at the Senior Center.

The St. Lawrence and Franklin Counties Roundtable will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on October 13 at the Almanzo and Laura Ingalls Wilder Association in Malone.

The topic for the day will be "How to Survey Collections and Make a Work Plan."

The Jefferson/Lewis/Oswego Counties Roundtable will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on October 14 at the Hilltop Restaurant in Constableville.
